We are bound to live with the Roma, but how… The aim of this study is to create a new concept of the environment as an alternative to the current general plan. In the latest urban plan of the town of Banska Stiavnica, the district of Sobov is designed as a recreation zone. However the plan doesn’t tackle the issue of the ethnical minority. This scheme is based on the simple principle of the interconnection of two key topics: the sustainable development in the prevention of social exclusion and the preservation of the environment. On the one hand, it resumes the continuity of resettlement of Sobov, creating a community feeling and the esteem of one´s home in the inhabitants, on the other hand it provides basic information about the district, life of the Roma and their work to the visitors and also offers an appropriate recreation facility. The majority will have to live side by side with the minority and this provides a chance for better housing to the socially challenged citizens in exchange for their participation on the development. The technical solution considers low-cost tower blocks emphasizing the lifestyle and problems of the Roma people using traditional materials, technologies, unqualified labour and also the already existing boreholes to obtain energy with thermal pumps.

The Problem of Integration of Roma from Marginalised Roma Communities into the Majority Society in Slovakia

This thesis is a case study focusing on field social workers in marginalized Roma communities in Slovakia, their work and target group. The aim of the thesis is to identify mechanisms to combat generational poverty among Roma in Slovakia. The research question is: "What tools do field social workers use to combat poverty among Roma from marginalized Roma communities (MRC) in Slovakia and what tools do they use with a similar target group abroad?" The qualitative research was carried out in the form of structured in-depth interviews with six fieldworkers working with Roma from the MRC in different regions of Slovakia. Three social workers were employed under non-profit organizations, three under a national project. Hypothesis 1: State support in the fight against poverty is insufficient, therefore the third sector helps to fight poverty. Hypothesis 2: Non-profit organisations have their own mechanisms that they use when working with clients to help them move out of generational poverty. Hypothesis 3: Roma are unable to integrate into mainstream society due to living in generational poverty, which is the same in different excluded communities around the world. Comparison of Roma and non-Roma injecting drug users using HCV screening and treatment at the addictology clinic in Brno

INTRODUCTION: Current research directed to socially excluded localities shows the correctness of the concept of targeted research and medical care directly in socially excluded localities with risky behavior. The high prevalence not only of infectious diseases directly related to the use of addictive substances, but also of other infectious diseases such as lues, testifies to the long-term absence of systematic medical and preventive care. OBJECTIVES: To compare medical anamnestic data, risk behavior rates and drug career progression in a cohort of Roma and non-Roma drug users visiting an addiction clinic located in a socially excluded location. To determine whether there are significant differences in family health burden, hospitalizations, surgeries, allergies, current medication use, current specialist visits, and access to health care among the cohorts mentioned, and whether there are differences in risky behavior and drug career progression among these cohorts . The Identity Construction and Self-Perception of Queer Sinti and Roma

This thesis examines the identity construction and self-perception of queer Sinti and Roma in Central Europe. Sinti and Roma are at the fringe of society and are subjected to discrimination and antiziganist stigmatisation. As a result, identity construction involves greater effort and leads to the creation of a collective identity that provides Sinti and Roma with a sense of belonging. Queer Sinti and Roma are exposed to intersectional discrimination on the axes of racism and homophobia and occupy a special position within identity formation. Incorporating data from three narrative interviews, testimonies and selected chapters from an autobiographical book, this study demonstrates that intersectional discrimination highly influences identity formation within queer Sinti and Roma. It was shown that identity construction was shaped by concepts like Masking Identity and the Perception of Othering that can be overcome by finding spaces of Belonging and social networks that display Allyship. The establishment of safe spaces for queer Sinti and Roma are crucial for the creation of spaces of Belonging and the manifestation of a mutual group identity. Leisure Time of Roma Children and Youth at Prague 3

PhDr. Monika Nová, Ph.D. MPH The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis describes leisure time - the history of leisure time, functions and leisure time of children and youth. It also describes the Roma community, the history of Roma in the Czech Republic and the topic of integration, segregation, discrimination and social exclusion of Romani people. It also focuses on Roma children and youth and their leisure time. The theoretical part concludes with a list of institutions working with Roma children and youth in Prague 3. In the practical part, a quantitative method was used to collect data through a questionnaire survey. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out how Roma children and youth in Prague 3 spend their leisure time.

The Role of Free Time in the Roma Ethnic Group

The aim of the work is to describe the specific character of The Roma ethnicity in relation to their concept of leisure time. This Bachelor thesis will look at how and where Roma ethnics spend their free time. To do that, you need to look at their history, which I'm dealing with in the first few chapters. Furthermore, romani people's relationship with leisure activities, education and work needs to be dismantled. This is what the second chapter deals with. The third chapter describes people who work with Roma children and examples of centres dealing with leisure and problems of Roma ethnicity.

Employment of Roma in the labor market in the Týn nad Vltavou region from the perspective of employers

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of placement of members of the Roma minority in the labor market in the Týn nad Vltavou region from the perspective of employers. The aim of this work is to analyze the issue of employment Roma from the perspective of employers in the region of Týn nad Vltavou. At work I set two research questions. My research questions are: "What is the employer's opinion on the employment of Roma" and "What is the employer's experience with employment of the Roma". A qualitative research strategy and technique of a semi - structured interview were used in the research part. The research took place in the Týn nad Vltavou region, where the interviews took place with 7 respondents. The interviews were rewritten and then encoded. Research results show that from the perspective of the employers in the Týn nad Vltavou region, most of them have experience with a Roma minority in employment. Furthermore, it was found that employers think that Roma on the labor market have the same possibilities at work as others. In the next topic it became clear that the informants think that the Roma have the same possibilities as the others in all terms. Out of prejudice that causes unemployment to Roma, employers think this claim is true. The last topic discussed resulted in the conclusion that employers are of the opinion that the involvement of a Roma minority in a team at work would be trouble - free. The benefit of this work is that it can serve as a better insight into this issue. It can be used as aid for the Labor Office in Týn nad Vltavou regarding this topic.
